SAFETY UPGRADES – If your vehicle was built in the early 70’s or earlier, although it may have been built with the safety standards of that era, it may not be safe at the speeds and traffic commonly found in today’s bigger cities.  Brake, tire, steering, and wheel technology has come a long way.  Manual drum brakes, manual steering, bias ply tires, and 14″ wheels provided a reasonable measure of safety back in “the day” but by today’s standards may not give you the performance you need.

Power Disk Brake Upgrade:  Regardless of the application, we can design and build you a power disk brake system that will improve dry brake performance, drastically improve wet brake performance and reduce brake fade.  If your brakes are 40 years old or older and you commute in today’s traffic, you know the limitations of your current brakes.  Before you “kiss” the car in front of you in an attempted panic stop, give us a call so we can build you a brake system that provides you an improvded brake system to better handle the traffic.

Power Steering:  Older vehicles in many cases had non-power steering. When combined with years of play in the tie rod ends, steering gearbox, wheel bearings, pittman arm, control arms, ball joints, king pins, steering columns and shafts, your steering may not react the way you want it to in panic situations.  We can evaluate and repair your vehicle and repair/replace components to tighten up your steering to the original specifications. We can also upgrade your steering system with power steering upgrades and in some cases upgraded steering components to improve handling in all situations.

Wheels/Tires:   One of the biggest technology breakthroughs in today’s vehicles over the classics is that of wheel and tire technology. The advent of the larger diameter wheels (16″-20″ in the performance arena) and the new sticky silicone based low profile Z rated tires can dramatically improve handling in all situations. We can find you wheels/tires that work with your existing brakes or ones that work with any brake upgrades we do.
