Carburetor Rebuilding

Carburetor Rebuilding/Restoration and On-Vehicle Adjustment

FantomWorks offers full service carburetor restoration including the following:

  • Rebuilding
  • Re-Jetting
  • Throttle Shaft Bushing Machining (to eliminate the vacuum leaks associated with worn throttle shafts)
  • Re-Colorization
  • On Engine Tuning

If you have tried rebuilding your carburetor with little or no success or you have no idea how to rebuild it properly, give us a call to see what we can do for you. We can restore Carters, Webbers, Rochesters, Holleys, Edelbrocks, Demons, SUs, or about anything else.  Sometimes rebuilding a carburetor isn’t enough. If you have vacuum leaks because of throttle shaft wear into the main throttle body, you have to close up the air gaps.  The only way you can get this done is by inserting bushings into the throttle bodies to bring back the original specifications of clearance.

Once we have finished rebuilding your carburetor, we can then dial the carburetor in. This includes setting the float(s), checking the needle/seat, adjusting the accelerator pump(s),  setting the air/fuel mixtures, and the idle.  Once the carburetor is adjusted, we adjust the ignition timing to make sure they function together to provide the ultimate in performance and ensure you avoid detonation.
