The 1968 Chevelle is an iconic car for the late 1960′s era. Its top model had a limited production of 60 vehicles, the 499 SS 396 hardtop. This car was one of Chevrolet’s best sellers in the 60′s because it came in so many different platforms. For example it came in two to four door coupes, sedans, or wagons. It also came in two or four door hardtops. It being such a hit in the 1960′s has surely made it a wonderful car to own and drive.
When our team picked up this vehicle from the owners specified location it was coming to our shop for a complete restoration. Here at FantomWorks we completely disassembled the car and started to wash the body in order to accept primer and paint. Once we removed the panels, as requested by the owner, we began to disassemble the engine and replaced all moving components. Once rebuilt we added new pulleys, rebuilt the carburetor, and painted the body. Once the engine and other components were installed we had a beautiful, fully restored 1968 Chevelle.
