For 1969 and 1970 models, the Mustang received a larger body, a more aggressive stance, and a wider grille. ’69 models featured “quad headlamps” which disappeared to make way for an even wider grille in the ’70 models. A variety of performance and decorative options were available including functional (and non-functional) air scoops, cable and pin hood tie downs, and both wing and chin spoilers. Additionally, the Boss 302 and 429 models were introduced to homologize the engines.

Introduced in February 1970, the second-generation Camaro was produced through the 1981 model year, with cosmetic changes made in 1974 and 1978 model years. The car was heavily restyled and became somewhat larger and wider with the new styling

The original Bronco was an ORV (Off-Road Vehicle), intended to compete primarily with Jeep CJ models and the International Harvester Scout. The Bronco’s small size riding on a 92-inch (2,337 mm) wheelbase made it popular for off-roading and some other uses, but impractical for such things as towing.

How did its maker treat the 1973-1980 Volkswagen Beetle? “Benign neglect” would describe it well. Volkswagen had seen its future, and the watchwords were water-cooled front-mounted engines and front-wheel drive. That left the air-cooled, rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive Beetle in the lurch. This VW Beetle came in for  a color change on the top and interior. While removing the interior we came to see that the floor pans were almost gone in spots, after reviewing this with the customer we removed and replaced the florr pans as well.

The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is a 2+2 coupe and convertible marketed from 1955 to 1974 by Volkswagen – combining the chassis and mechanicals of the Type 1 (Beetle), styling by Luigi Segre of the Italian carrozzeria Ghia, and hand-built bodywork by German coach-builder Karmann.

The 1972 Charger bowed with a new “Rallye” option to replace the former R/T version. The SE was differentiated from other 1972 Chargers by a unique formal roof treatment and hidden headlights. The 440 engines were still available, but now had to use the net horsepower rating instead of the gross horsepower rating. This would cause their horsepower ratings to go down substantially, although the net horsepower rating was actually more realistic

If you think you’ve seen this car, you have. It’s Year One’s “Bandit” version of the 1978 Pontiac Trans Am and it’s been in virtually every hot-rodding magazine and featured on every Web site. It plays on familiar iconography, grabbing its looks from Smokey and the Bandit.

Officially it’s the Burt Reynolds Edition Trans Am built by Year One, the restoration parts company based in Georgia. And officially it’s one of a limited production run that could be up to 50 cars — if, that is, there are 50 people willing to pay for a ripped version of the ’78 Trans Am. Year One has supplied parts for The Fast and The Furious series since the second installment, so it’s no surprise to see that relationship continue into the fourth film.

Owner’s Remarks

We purchased this truck in 2005 from an ad placed on the Collector Car Trader on Line. The Scout was in Gresham, Oregon by a private seller. After a little back & forth my wife and youngest son struck a deal. It was then shipped overland fom the west coast to Norfolk, Virginia. This Scout ll came w/ 98135 miles, V-8 (345) Automatic Trans, Cruise Control, Air Cond, Power Steering & Brakes, Warn Locking Hubs and was in good running condition. This truck weighs over 3 tons, not a gas sipper! We had owned one very similar in 1983 so we knew what we were getting.
