Entering into the 1930s, Packard attempted to beat the stock market crash and subsequent Great Depression by manufacturing ever more opulent and expensive cars than it had prior to October 1929. The Packard Twin Six (designed by Jesse Vincent) was introduced for 1932 and renamed the Packard Twelve for the remainder of its run (through 1939). For one year only, 1932, Packard tried fielding an upper-medium-priced car called the Light Eight.

The 1937 Volvo PV52 was built by the Volvo corporation in the late 1930′s. It was a response to the demand for a less expensive vehicle by the consumers. It included a rear that was very similar to the Carioca. The front, however, was different and the interior was more simplistic due to lower production cost. These vehicles are certianly a stylish and eye catching. It is certian that if driving down the road in this vehicle heads will turn to check out this awesome car.

When This Plymouth arrived it was so dismantled that we don’t have a single photograph of it that brought justice to the lines of this beautiful car.  The owner of the 33 Coupe in the shop is doing a “few” modifications including an 1100 horsepower supercharged big block motor, 40″ of rear tires to put the power to the ground, so many modifications to the body that you’ll just have to stay posted and look at the photographs, and a complete custom leather interior to keep him in style as he aims this rocket ship down the road.

Mr. Phillips’ 1933 Plymouth Coupe arrived on Labor day 2009. When it arrived it was predominately a fiberglass car, with only part of the main tub being made out of steel. It is already a 100% metal car with the body work being predominately completed in old fashioned Hot Rod LEAD.  It will truly be a one-off custom built and designed work of art. You will notice the metal work looking mostly custom/mostly new. With exception of the rear fenders and about 50% of the cab, the balance of the metal on this beast was fabricated on a brake, bead roller, hammer/Dolley, and an English wheel at this shop by the most skilled metal artisan in the country.

This 1932 Roadster came in to have louvers installed on the top and sides of the hood. It is also having an automatic  opening cowl induction scoop installed. More pictures and information to come. Stay Posted.

This is one of only a few Standard Motor Company cars in existence in the US. The company, headquartered in England, existed prior to WWII. When the German bombing of England decimated the Triumph motor company in England (and yet the Standard company survived largely in tact) the Standard Motor company purchased the name “Triumph” and re-flagged under that name. Their primary reason was that the US market (easily the largest in the world then) didn’t exactly favor a company whose name of “Standard” seemed far too regular or ordinary.

This Terraplane came in as a high-roof, straight backed coupe.

This Terraplane was chopped, sloped, lowered, and Frenched. It is undergoing a complete restoration/build including a fabricated dash/console and leather interior.
